Honourable Mention for The Well

Anthologist Ellen Datlow lists, in her annual best of anthology, the short stories she thinks deserve an Honourable Mention. A longer list appears on her Live Journal blog. There were 608 HMs for 2011 this year, and The Well, which appeared in the British Fantasy Society’s 2010 Winter Annual (but published early 2011), received one.

Which is a real thrill and validation of sorts and gives a real boost to my writing efforts. Thanks Ellen!

A pity the story isn’t generally available as only BFS members received the Winter Journal. I’m thinking of submitting it somewhere else in the hopes of it receiving a larger audience.

Just quicky: reading Laird Barron’s Occultation. One word revirew: Brilliant.
